Gucci was actually better before Harry, Harry, Harris, Alessandro and the whole crew came along. It used to be a luxury brand and Alessandro made it cheap and Harry and his team made it pop to the point where people complained if something costed 100€ because Harry’s 15 year old stans couldn’t get their parents to buy it. What Alessandro did was having everyone and their mothers wear the brand and that alone has started to make the brand look cheap. These brands are not meant to be everyone’s, they’re meant to be everyone’s dream. This went on for like 10 years… Alessandro had a vision but that’s what it remained, I fear. Of course, if you became director of such a big name you are talented and stuff, Alessandro was very cultured and educated, ready to express himself and ideas with extravaganza, but a few mistakes were made on the way.

I think it’s natural that at some point brands suffer a moment of disorientation. Creative process at this high level is challenging, but these big names have strong identities to go back to.

Trixie Mattel – The Fillmore – Philadelphia, PA – June 30, 2024

A sea of pink took over Philadelphia Sunday night when Trixie Mattel arrived for the final night of her infamous Solid Pink Disco pride tour. The night started out with some classic remixes as fans gathered in the venue, completely decked out in all shades of pink and Trixie Mattel merch. Fans sang along to the classics, including a-ha’s “Take On Me,” ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” and of course, “Read U Wrote U” from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 2. As it got closer to 9pm, Trixie’s DJ Mother Mateo Segade took the stage, along with a local Philadelphia cast of drag and burlesque performers to warm up the crowd.

As 9:45 rolled around, the crowd went wild as Trixie took the stage. She waved to the crowd as she looked stunning, flaunting her hot pink outfit, a pink studded jacket and ruffled bottoms, before taking her position at the DJ booth. She opened her set with none other than her track, Solid Pink Disco. This was met with an explosion of confetti, and cheers from every person in the room. The crowd was immediately up off their feet, dancing along with smiles that could be seen from a mile away.

Trixie interacted with the crowd, picking up her microphone to speak with the audience throughout her set, as well as giving the audience the power to choose whether she stayed in her pink stiletto heels, or changed to pink Crocs. The crowd, of course, went nuts for the Crocs! Trixie used a number of props such as a fan, and her gorgeous Trixie Cosmetics handheld mirror to put on quite the entertaining performance behind the booth. Her dancing never stopped, and neither did the crowd’s! The cast of dancers and performers stayed on the stage the whole time, dancing along and entertaining the crowd alongside Trixie.

Trixie played remixes of a whole host of songs, including Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” The Trammps’ “Disco Inferno,” Aqua’s “Barbie Girl,” Lipps Inc.’s “Funkytown,” Kungs’ “Clap Your Hands,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “HER,” Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight),” and of course, Trixie’s own and my personal favorite, “Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous.” Overall, Solid Pink Disco was nothing short of an amazing experience. Full of so many iconic songs, the fabulous Trixie Mattel herself, and a wonderful cast of local performers, the energy was at its peak throughout the entire night, and the dancing never stopped!

It's been a shitty ass birthday month this year. We had plans to go to Laudree, but everyone's sick, so we can hardly go and cough on everything. Because she came, the sunday plans to go to the mall with dad and cousin to buy OUR birthday gifts (cause all of three of us, plus my bil next weekend, all are nov babies) were abandoned cause my mom made dad take her and her bestie to costco for whatever. Like, we had to adjust all our birthday plans multiple times this month cause everyone's been sick af, and that is unavoidable, but this uninvited guest was avoidable! even if we didn't end up making it to the mall or wherever, it would've been cause WE were too tired or lazy, not because some fucking rando wanted to go somewhere else. like, this lady has 3 grown ass kids, all living in the same damn city, but she chose to invite herself over to stay the weekend of MY birthday. I didn't fucking invite her and at least this time of the year I should get a choice about it. I am being petty about it, but it's my birthday, I get to be petty. The lil cuz and I were gonna buy like a gojo plushie or a pochita for her, and finally some Sumeru merch at Sukoshi, and lush and sephora, and I was SUPPOSED to finally get my new phone this weekend. I actually need it now cause the back of my phone is coming off, and there's no time this week cause MORE guests, and this time it's my dad's shitty ass youngest brother (like okay, as a fellow youngest spoiled child, I understand why he's like that, but he's a 40-50 year old man, grow up my dude). //////////////////sigh///////////////// lowkey should've taken up my sister's offer to spend my b-day, bil's b-day, and american thanksgiving with them, but papa and me let our passports expire and it's too late now to make it in time for the events. lolz.

Hey again! Was thinkin' about music (as one obsessed with music does) and I was curious what you were into! :D

Genres, bands, albums, any songs specifically you recommend to me or anyone else? Any small bands or underrated songs you think could use some love?

Also, do you own any physical music? Vinyls, CDs, tapes, something more obscure? (Reel to reel/8track/etc)

And as a little bonus question, favorite transformers soundtrack? (Which show/movie/game did you think had the best (in your opinion) theme/backing tracks)

Well…Heh…I am one of those people who say they like everything and then hate on a bunch of stuff. AHSBHAV no that’s a joke, but it would be easier to say what I don’t like rather than what I do like. I don’t like the specific genre of pop that is Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and most just popular pop songs, I guess? Like I DO like pop but not that kind of pop. I also have a thing that I need my music to be at least a little loud and energetic because most calm music (like lo-fi) stresses me out (don’t question me.). But I’d say my most listened to genres are metal, rock, hyperpop and electronic (in that order).

I have a really hard time PICKING OUT things for this reason but I’ll give you a screenshot of my most recent added songs to my playlist because those are usually my recent favourites. 2 sec hold on.

Alright there it is. I also just realised I said that like I was texting somebody and having a live conversation but I’m not changing it now.

If I’d have to say anything, I AM IN LOVE with Jay Ray’s stuff. High recommend. I think Jay Ray is big in the tf community though so UAGEUA. If I had to mention like one thing I have that I actually think may not be listened to by many it’s BREAK by Jimmy Here. I wish that song was longer because that scream it has in the end is BANGER. (And yes that is the “it is wednesday my dudes” guy. Yes I watch his videos). Six feet under by kissin’ dynamite is also recently one of my favourites. Can also, ALWAYS, recommend infected mushroom. Specifically “becoming insane” and “The Pretender”. Imma just list some more that I like rq

The problem is that I’m a song listener. Not an album listener, not an artist/band listener. I find a singular song I like, add it to my playlist, and move on. AHBSHA My friends hate me for it. And for that reason I also have no physical music. Only a bit of band merch from my absolute faves (Slipknot and mother mother hehe)

And now I must admit…an EMBARRASSINGLY big portion of the songs on my playlist comes from the Bumblebee movie (and it’s not transformers media, but some of the songs on the screenshot are from THE FUCKING FALLOUT SERIES (it was banger)). AUEHUA They aren’t originals so I’m not gonna count it as much BUT THE SONGS FROM G1…OH BOY YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG. Those are mf BANGERS. We need to go back to rock songs in animated kids movies. I have “The touch” on my goddamn playlist and no I’m not ashamed about it. I also have jort storm by Slimecicle because I’m a gunky goober who wears jorts.

Random things and easter eggs about DH Melodia and DH 3...

No huge spoiler here (except one) but mainly stuff you didn't notice while reading it.

The story is almost over (only 3 chapters left) and I don't think there's going to be any huge references like before as it will be focused on Leïla and Hiro story.

It's also going to take me a while to make it (my game is acting weird lately with infinite load on main lots ...) so I guess this is a little thing to keep you waiting ^^

Melodia : Have you noticed all the references so far ?

The episode started with the usual editing but when the spell starts on the next day, the episode changes into a "movie" with 16:9 format (remember this is a musical after all).

The usual editing format will be back at the end of the spell so be carefull to that by the end of the episode I guess 😋

Main references : outfits !

As you probably noticed if you read the story, the characters have a loooot of outfits this episode even though it all happens the same day. Why ? Because usually characters/artists have several outfit when they sing, outfits that illustrate their current mood most of the time.

I also put a lot of references to the original song/video/movie, well at least I tried my best :

Hiro and Leïla are wearing similar outfits than Xander and Anyah in the Buffy Musical special, the scene is litteraly a tribute to the original one as we see the couple arguing and dancing in their home.

The couple also have a Midsommar poster on top of their bed to illustrate that something's going on in this relationship ... (Will Hiro burn at the end ? Or is it their relationship ?)

Aïssa has Barbie The Movie outfits as she's the Barbie of the gang and she always wears pink.

Milo wears a lot of band merch t-shirt (his favourites).

The Lambda Beta sisters are all wearing Taylor Swift's inspired outfits. All of their outfits are inspired by either a Taylor outfit or an album like Lover (blue and pink dress to match the colours of this album). Kayla is a mix between 2 Midnights outfits.

Julia represents Reputation as she's the snake of the story . She also has similar outfits to Taylor when she sings look what you made me do.

Mindy has a similar outfits to AnyahTaylor-Joy 's one in Last Night in Soho (as she sings the cover from the movie. this is one of the best movies I've seen in 2021 and probably in my life, so watch it whenever you can). Mindy illustrates some kind of purity here as Thomasin in the movie (I don't show you her look here to keep the surprise if you watch the movie). Just like her, she'll be impacted by the city and its danger ...

When Leïla sings Drinks by Cyn, she also has a similar outfit to Cyn's one in the videoclip. That's also why her hair are more curly than usual, even though her hair are naturally curly. I also choose a skirt suit because Leïla is more a skirt girl ^^

The spell doesn't work on Destiny first but when it gets more powerfull, it starts to impact her as well (which bring to the Physical scene in which she has a similar look to Dua Lipa's one in the videoclip). I also put the different colours because I thought it was fun.

Yes, I also put some things that are going to impact DH3, the next season of Destiny Harbour. As Melodia is supposed to be a huge introduction to Britechester and the new characters/plots, a new kind of evil/enemy is also rising slowly ...

i find it really interesting how there can be popstars who have a loyal fanbase but can‘t get a proper hit that is played without promo (like ts, she has a lot of fans but cruel summer only is in the charts rn cause of the movie and tour)
